New managing director at Lamont Pridmore's Carlisle office

Lamont Pridmore, the multi award-winning Cumbria-based firm of chartered accountants, tax and business advisers, has welcomed Peter Brooks as the new managing director of its Carlisle office.

He takes over the role from Chris Lamont, who will continue as resident partner at the Carlisle office.

With more than 25 years’ experience in practice, Peter trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in Manchester, having gained a degree in Management Sciences from Manchester University.

He was later a partner in Jones Harris & Co on the Fylde Coast, in Lancashire, before moving to Penrith to join Wood Brooks & Co as a partner.

A married father of two grown-up children, Peter’s interests outside of work include cars, motorcycles, motor sports, fell walking, golf, tennis and music. He has been a school governor for the last 18 years.

We are delighted to welcome someone of Peter’s experience to the firm. He has a particularly strong background in the SME owner-managed business sector, and will prove to be a real asset, not just to Lamont Pridmore but to the business owners of Carlisle and the surrounding area.

Peter’s arrival will allow Chris to focus on promoting and developing the practice in northern Cumbria and southern Scotland and they are working together to take the Carlisle practice forward.

Both Chris and Peter are passionate about helping clients’ businesses succeed and are very much looking forward to further developing the Carlisle practice and engaging with the city’s diverse business community.
