Accountants Reward School's Business Star
A future star of the business world has been rewarded for her exam success by Kendal-based Lamont Pridmore accountants and business advisors.
For the second year, Lamont Pridmore has presented a trophy to the top-performing A level Business Studies student at Kirkbie Kendal School, Kendal and Rebecca Knipe received her award as part of a prize-giving evening earlier this month at Kendal Leisure Centre.
Rebecca, who is now studying Forensic Science and Anthropology at the University of Central Lancashire, received a trophy plus £20 in book tokens from Phil Tarbun, a client relationship manager at Lamont Pridmore.
He said: “We know how much hard work and dedication is involved in achieving first class A level results and are delighted to reward Rebecca for her commitment to her studies.
“An insight into the way that business works is an excellent introduction to the world of work, so wherever the careers of the Business Studies students may take them, they will benefit from their studies.”
Kirkbie Kendal deputy headteacher Gemma McMullen said: “Rebecca has been an outstanding Business Studies student, showing the commitment and dedication required for success – we wish her well and thank Lamont Pridmore for their support in recognising her success.”
The programme for the prize-giving evening programme included a musical performance by students and a short talk by meteorologist Peter Gibbs, a former Kendal Grammar School student, who now regularly appears on the BBC presenting weather forecasts.
