A student at St Benedict’s School in Whitehaven has been commended for his exceptional work in business studies.
Matthew Pattinson was presented with the Lamont Pridmore Student of the Year 2019 award at a special ceremony held at the school’s new Whitehaven Campus.
The ceremony, in which Matthew was presented with vouchers and a trophy, was attended by our Managing Director at our West Cumbria Offices, Stuart Edger, who congratulated Matthew on his achievements at the school.
It was wonderful to meet Matthew and his teachers and learn more about why he was chosen for this award. It is clear that he has a real passion for the subject, which is borne out in the amazing results he has achieved.
We must support and encourage talent, such as Matthew possesses, so that we can create a new generation of business leaders and professionals.
Matthew was chosen for the award by the business studies department at the school for his success in his studies.
Paul Charlton, one of the school’s Business Studies teachers, said: “Matthew was a determined, hardworking and polite member of the class who exceeded his target grade to gain a Distinction (A) grade. Even when he found some of the work challenging, he persevered and put maximum effort into his Business work and this resulted in him getting a top grade”.
