Lamont Pridmore - Accountants

Cumbria-based accountancy firm, Lamont Pridmore, is proud to continue its support for the next generation of business leaders by sponsoring the Economics & Business Prize at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School (QEGS).

The 2024 award has been presented to Ben Ellis, a student whose determination and dedication to his studies have truly set him apart from his peers.

Despite facing significant challenges, including recovering from a serious injury in the summer of 2023, Ben achieved an impressive Grade B in A-level Economics.

Kate Judge, Head of Economics at QEGS, praised Ben’s resilience and active involvement:

“Ben’s ability to persevere through adversity was remarkable. Even after missing a significant amount of school, he demonstrated unwavering dedication, contributing enthusiastically to class debates and group presentations.

“His success is a direct reflection of his hard work and character.”

Ben has since started an accountancy apprenticeship with Dodd & Co. in Penrith, taking the first step in what promises to be a successful career in the profession.

Trevor Iredale, Independent Financial Adviser at Lamont Pridmore, presented the award to Ben ahead of the QEGS A-Level Awards celebration on Thursday 19 December, held at Penrith Methodist Church.

Trevor commented: “We congratulate Ben on this well-deserved recognition. His perseverance is truly inspiring, and we are delighted to celebrate his achievement.

“At Lamont Pridmore, we are committed to supporting the development of talented young people in our community, helping them overcome challenges and realise their full potential.

“Through our partnerships with Queen Elizabeth Grammar School and other local schools, we aim to inspire and develop the next generation of business and economics leaders, ensuring a bright future for the local professional services sector.”

Lamont Pridmore’s ongoing support for local education reflects their genuine commitment to helping young people in the community thrive in the next chapter of their careers.
