One of Kirkbie Kendal School’s top students, Sasha Bernada, has been awarded the Lamont Pridmore Business Student of the Year award for 2024.
Sasha, originally from Ukraine, has successfully managed the complexities of studying in a second language while excelling in her business studies.
Her ability to adapt and thrive amidst challenges, coupled with her unwavering positive spirit, has truly set her apart.
The Lamont Pridmore award, which honours extraordinary accomplishment in business studies, recognises Sasha’s continued hard work and positive attitude to business.
Her energy and determination have been a source of inspiration for both peers and teachers alike.
The nomination comes from Mandy Booth, Head of Business at Kirkbie Kendal, who spoke very highly of the pupil.
“Sasha is an incredible example of resilience and enthusiasm,” Mandy Booth said.
“Despite the challenges of learning in a second language, she has a faultless attitude to learning and a strong desire to succeed. In addition, Sasha is modest, approachable with a delightful personality and thoroughly reliable.”
Sasha’s positive attitude and enquiring mind resulted in a fantastic A Level grade, and she now moves on to study Finance at Lancaster University. To support her studies she has been awarded a scholarship with Janus Henderson Investors, one of only five scholarships offered nationally.
Glenn Bond, Director of Financial Services at Lamont Pridmore Asset & Wealth Management, had the honour of presenting Sasha with her engraved glass award and a book voucher just ahead of the Kirkbie Kendal School awards presentation evening.
“It was an absolute pleasure to meet Sasha and celebrate her achievements. Her hard work and enthusiasm in business studies, and her other subjects, have brought real success.”
