An emerging young talent at Kirkbie Kendal School has been named the Lamont Pridmore Business Student of the Year for her determination and outstanding performance.
Abigail Greenwood was chosen to receive the Lamont Pridmore Award by her teachers for her passion for Business Studies.
Head of Business, Mandy Booth, said: “Abi is and always has been a conscientious student who is determined to do her best. She is intelligent and well respected by both staff and her peers.
“She was a Head Student last year and completed her duties admirably whilst keeping up with all her work. Abi’s business acumen is of a standard well beyond her years.
“She is leaving to study international business at Newcastle University and is a young lady with an incredibly bright future ahead of her.”
Karl Burrell, Managing Director South Cumbria at Lamont Pridmore, presented the award and some gift vouchers to Abigail ahead of an awards ceremony held at the school on 9 September.
He said: “On behalf of everyone at Lamont Pridmore, I’d like to congratulate Abigail on her achievement and commend the commitment she has shown to her studies.
“It’s wonderful to celebrate such a bright young talent from Kirkbie Kendal, and we all wish her the very best as she continues her education at University.”
The Cumbrian accountancy firm recognises that business is essential to driving economic growth both in the UK and globally and remains committed to supporting the next generation of business talent.
Karl added: “Many of the businesses we advise are founded by people just like Abigail, so I am very excited to see where her career takes her.”
